How did you decide on the name Southwest Discovered?
This is the name that embraces our love and commitment to being forever tourists in this extraordinary, beautiful land. Every day our passion is to discover new roads, meet people who embrace the Southwest, try new and traditional foods along the way, and share it with you with the hope that you will love our home as much as we do!
What kind of camera do you use?
We have a Canon Rebel with interchangeable lenses. Our best images are shot with natural light, no flash. The Rebel also has a video feature. In the interest of being discreet in small cafes or intimate settings we will use the camera on our phones. We also use a Flip camera from time to time because it’s so easy to use and plug into the computer for uploading.
Photo and Recipe Usage: I’d like to feature one of your recipes / posts / photos / illustrations on my blog / site.
Thank you for your interest.
Thank you for your interest!
We devote hours every day to arrange and take photos, edit and format them … and equal time developing recipes and writing about them. Our photos, written materials, recipes, artwork, all content are under copyright and are not permissible for republishing on your site or for your promotional purposes.
If you would like to share using our social media options at the bottom of our posts, please do! However, using our materials for your social media cover images, boosts or promotions, print or Internet materials … that is considered advertising usage and is prohibited without explicit licensing.
If you are interested in a particular image or story, please email your query so we can discuss what you’re needing and the rates for licensing usage: info(at)soutwestdiscovered(dot)com.
If you like one of our recipes or articles (thank you!) and want to blog about it, you can write your own article about it in your own words and link back to our site, without posting our recipe, photos, etc. on your site. When you re-write in your own voice for your site it is acceptable to give credit as ‘adapted from or ‘inspired by’ with a link and proper credit to Southwest Discovered.
Please feel free to email your questions and we’ll figure it out: info(at)southwestdiscovered(dot)com.
I saw a type-o, grammatical error, mistake on your post.
We tend to write as we talk no commas tense shifting and all … with lots of dot dot dots … that has been described as artsy casual writing. If you see a glaring type-o or mistake we would like to hear about it so we can go back and make corrections. If we have a fact wrong, please send us a link with information that will educate us about the subject. Email: info(at)southwestdiscovered(dot)com.
You sometimes list products and companies in your posts ... are you advertising with them?
When we write about a product, business, cooking class, museum, cookbook, it’s because we like it, use it, and want to connect you with the source. If a post is sponsored we will let you know at the beginning along with why we collaborated with that sponsor.
Our Shop SW page is where we have affiliated with companies and products we use and love. If we do not believe wholeheartedly in a product we will not cover it or list it in our online shop.
